Snowy Winter Elopement in Leavenworth, Washington

Kyle & Raven — 1/21/23

Tucked away in a log cabin on the eastern slopes of the Washington Cascades, Kyle and Raven got ready to vow forever for the second time. This time, exactly how they wanted to.

Just a couple years prior, they had planned, and did their best to execute, a more traditional wedding. Of course we all know how the COVID era went, and unfortunately their celebration didn’t quite live up to their hopes and dreams.

When they reached out to me and told me their story, along with their vision for a snowy vow renewal in Leavenworth, Washington, I was immediately fired up to finally give them the joyful wedding experience they deserved.

When the day arrived, the excitement was tangible. And just as it was meant to be, everything unfolded like a magical movie scene. Giant, fluffy snowflakes fell from the sky as they met near the pines for their first look. After that, we drove to a peaceful location off of Icicle Road (perfect, right??) where they said their vows on a bridge to the sound of a mountain river flowing steadily beneath them. Once we got back to the cabin, we popped some bubbly, cut some cake, and celebrated the beauty of the day and the renewing of their sacred vows.

Looking back, nature’s gentle gifts of sunbeams and snowflakes at just the right time throughout the day seems too serendipitous to be coincidence. Perhaps the mountains and the skies knew. I like to think so anyways.
