the sisters, oregon elopement of your dreams —

Let’s be honest. We both know your elopement experience is not about the photos.

Because 90% of how you’re going to feel about the photographs comes down to the experience of the moment itself. How immersed you were in that place in time. It’s the moments of pure presence and genuine emotion that make a photograph, and your elopement day, something truly special.

I’m here to guide you to that with every resource and tip I have from 7 years of experience documenting love.

As a deep-feeling, nature obsessed, and experience-led photographer, my mission is that you have the freedom and comfort to lean into every little and big moment knowing that each memory is in trusted hands.

how to elope in sisters, oregon

  1. Decide on a time frame

Sisters is located in the high deserts of Central Oregon, where summers are warm and dry, and winters are cold and snowy. The shoulder seasons (late Spring and early Fall) offer some of the best weather, less tourists, and lowest chances of wildfires. Living here for a full year myself, I can offer insight on the best time frame based on your desired locations and activities. Pro tip: weekdays are prime time for max privacy.

  2. Pick your vendor team & ceremony Location

Your elopement can be as simple or as extravagant as you want it to be. Some couples value design and aesthetics while others just want a special day with just their partner and a photographer (hi).

Your elopement photographer is a valuable resource in the planning process. They can often help you find your perfect ceremony location, build a timeline, and facilitate a comfortable and safe space to celebrate exactly how you want to. Other vendors to consider are an officiant, florist, hair and makeup artist, videographer, and a planner.

Need some help finding your vendor dream team? I’ve got plenty of recommendations and am always happy to guide you through this part of the process.

  3. Make it legit

As far as legality goes, you will need to have an officiant, marriage license, and two witnesses over the age of 18 who are not the officiant. (I’m ordained btw!). If you’re not planning to have any guests, nearby hikers are always stoked to be apart of the special moment. You can find more information on obtaining a marriage license here.

  4. book accommodations & activities

Sisters is home to some incredible lodges, cabins, and resorts. Check out my Sisters Oregon Micro Wedding Guide for a few of my favorites. It’s best to book your accommodations 4-6 months in advance, especially when considering a summer date. For a shorter planning window, Spring and Fall are your best bet for more availability.

  5. Have The Best Day Ever

Time to lean in and enjoy the ride! Remember all the reasons why you chose to celebrate your love this way, and bring those intentions with you on your adventure. No matter where you are, or how you choose to celebrate, eloping with your lover in Sisters, Oregon is sure to bring you moments that’re beautifully serendipitous and pure magic.

  6. RElive it all

When all is said and done, you’ll surely wish you could relive it all over again. With photographs that focus on emotion over perfection, you can do just that! To learn more about my approach to photography, click here.

frequent questions

We’re open to locations, can you help?

Yes! I’ve previously lived as a local in central oregon and have personally scouted out tons of incredible locations and venues. Whether you’re looking for accessible, off the beaten path, or the cabin of your dreams, I can help. If I haven’t been to your desired location, I’m happy to help with the research and legwork to make sure it’ll suit what you’re looking for.

Where are you located and what are your travel fees?

I’m based in the Portland area, but travel often. Travel expenses are rolled into every package, so there’s no additional fees for you!

How and When will we receive our photos?

Turnaround for elopements is 5 weeks. You’ll receive your online gallery and print shop via a link straight to your inbox.

How many images will we get?

This varies greatly depending on how many hours of coverage you’re interested in. My general philosophy is quality over quantity. That said, I send everything I think you’ll love including the perfectly imperfect.

What if there's bad weather?

A little wind and rain can actually add a ton of character to the images and an extra dose of adventure to the experience. That said, we’ll have a plan B location just in case.
