Urban Engagement Session | Portland Oregon Wedding Photographer
In early December, I had the pleasure of documenting Jalina and Trevor’s engagement in the moody city of Portland. Their desire for an urban vibe led us on an adventure through the streets of East Portland, exploring its iconic vibes that hold a special place in their hearts.
The journey began at Pacific Standard, a cocktail bar that provided an intimate setting. The soft orange glow of ambient lights and the rustic charm of exposed brick created a cozy atmosphere, setting the perfect tone for the evening.
Venturing onto the streets of East Portland, we embraced the city's unique blend of old architecture and modern charm. As I focused the camera on candid moments between Jalina and Trevor, we strolled through familiar streets, reminiscing about the nights spent at concerts and lingering outside bars. The authenticity of these moments translated beautifully into the photographs.
Our next stop was Music Millennium, a giant record store on Burnside St. Surrounded by vinyl records, Jalina and Trevor shared tender moments, and even found a record to take home with them. The combination of 35mm film and digital photographs allowed me to capture the essence of their connection with a flare of nostalgia.
Afterwards, The vibrant neon sign of the Laurelhurst Theater became the backdrop for our next set of photos. With cars bustling by and the sky fading from deep blue to black, they danced and swayed underneath the vibrant lights.
Finally, we made our way to Holman's Bar & Grill, a classic Portland dive bar for a nightcap. The dimly lit ambiance was the perfect final location to end our adventure.
