Abbey Road Farm Engagement Photos | Carlton, Oregon

Allison & Adam

These photos were taken during that September 2020 week in the Pacific Northwest when we were in the middle of a pandemic, the entire state was on fire, and the air outside was toxic to breathe. Allison and Adam had flown out to Oregon from Texas to get married in the forest, and had to scrap every plan and start from scratch.

With my bags packed and ready to evacuate my home from nearby fires at any moment, I had no idea how I was going to be able to show up as my best for them. Nor did I know how they were going to pull off a last minute wedding. Somehow, some way.. With a lot of love and grit, they did it. And so did I.

Needless to say, it was pretty crucial for me to do the best I could to make up for some of the chaos and stress by documenting a few extra moments for them. With fingers crossed, we planned this couples session for the day before their flights back home. Fortunately, it rained all night and the smoke got pushed out just enough to make for some peaceful moments at Abbey Road Farm, a beautiful wine-country B&B in the hills of Willamette Valley.

I learned that week that love stops for nothing. I saw friends, families, and neighbors rally for each other in a way that I’d never seen before. It is wild how much we can learn about life during times of crisis.

No matter what challenges come in the future, I hope we tackle that shit with half as much of the bravery and courage we mustered up in 2020.
