Surprise Proposal and Engagement Session in Sisters, Oregon

Jordan & Annie

On a brisk evening in early Spring, Jordan took his love Annie on a stroll through a meadow preserve just outside of Sisters, Oregon. With Black Butte looming in the background, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, meanwhile their dogs ran wild around them. To her (sort of) surprise, I was photographing the whole thing just a few hundred yards away.

Their laughter and joy was infectious, and I wondered out loud why all couples don’t do their engagement sessions this way. It was so effortless to document the natural moments of pure love since it was literally beaming out of them.

Not to mention this meadow, which just happened to be on their list of places to visit together, is a place I hold near and dear to my own heart. A place I’ve come to stare at the mountains and get lost in swaying grass.

Needless to say, this evening was one to remember. Here’s to the things that matter most in life. Like love and mountains.
