Rachel & Jackson

Rachel was a bride that I hit it off with right from the beginning. An incredibly sweet and kind-hearted soul whose emails were like opening letters from a good friend. And Jack, her perfect counterpart, equally kind and easy-going, had been a groomsman at a wedding I shot several years prior. From the start, it was one of those meant-to-be kind of things.

For their engagement session, Rachel asked if I had any ideas for something to do in Central Oregon. I immediately thought of a summer sunset, a bottle of rose, log cabins, and a canoe ride at Paulina Lake Lodge – the makings of a perfect date. She was in love with the idea, so we set the date and made it happen. 

The experience was one that naturally lended itself to laughter and good vibes. When I look at the images I can still feel their energy. The energy of a summer evening, a little wine buzz before setting off in a canoe ride on the lake, and a wedding day on the horizon.
