When a thousand cyclists show up during your engagement session because of an unexpected marathon in the middle of the desert at sunrise — you get a do over.

For Breanna and Jared’s re-do session, I envisioned something more casual and intimate. A change from the expansive sceneries and gorgeous backdrops I’ve grown accustomed to. I wanted to create something that had a sense of realness and depth to it. Something with a sort of “day in the life” documentary approach.

Fortunately, these two go-with-the-flow, amazingly flexible, and chill humans were up for the vision, and decided to go with my suggestion of an at-home session.

What I didn’t know when I made this suggestion was all the history they shared within these walls. It was serendipitously the perfect place to create meaningful and honest photographs with them.
