It continually brings me back for one thing in particular: breathtaking nature. Though many people travel to Central Oregon for Sisters’ neighbor city of Bend, Sisters offers a small town Western charm, quieter trails, and a unique set of incredible local businesses. It’s a destination that will cater to all of your outdoor desires, while also providing you with comfort and style — worthy of even your most significant adventure yet.

A coffee shop meets mountain lodge, with an impressive cabin-esque interior and high-quality, delicious coffee.
Sisters Bakery
Incredible Sourdough bread, doughnuts, and pastries. Need I say more?
The Barn in sisters
A beautiful taphouse surrounded by a giant courtyard with fire pits and a selection of food carts.
The Open Door
A lovely restaurant with great ambience. The perfect spot to grab a delicious dinner and a glass of wine.
The Cottonwood Cafe
A quaint brunch spot set in a cottage-style house. Serving local ingredients and creative dishes.
Sno Cap Drive In
Good ole fashioned Americana. This little diner is the best and cutest spot to grab some ice cream on a hot summer day.

For the Tea Lovers. Enjoy a selection of whole-leaf teas sourced from small-production farmers.

Metolius River
The Metolius River, found near the base of Black Butte is known for stunningly clear, cold water. Check out the Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery to see pools of Brown and Rainbow Trout along with Kokanee and Atlantic Salmon. Be sure to stop at the bridge before you arrive at the hatchery to overlook the other-wordly colors of the Metolius River.
Koosah & Sahalie Falls
Located right off Highway 126, just a 40 minute drive from Sisters, you’ll find two incredible waterfalls: Koosah and Sahalie Falls. Hike the 2.9 mile loop to see them both while meandering through the evergreen forest.
Black Butte
When visiting Sisters, you’ll likely notice this giant looming in the distance. Black Butte is an extinct Stratovolcano that makes for a spectacular day-hike, most notably, for the views that stretch on for many miles on a clear day. If you’re lucky enough to visit at the right time you’ll catch sight of Mount Hood and Mount. Jefferson, Three Fingered Jack and the Three Sisters, Mount Adams and Diamond Peak. Also worth noting are the fire lookout and cabin at the summit.
Suttle Lake
Grab a paddle board or kayak and visit this heavenly body of clear blue water. Don’t have a water vessel of your own? Not to worry, Suttle Lodge Boathouse will rent you one during the warmer months. You can also swim, hike around the lake, or simply grab a beer at the boathouse and call it a day.
Three Creeks Lake
The perfect starting point for a day of exploring the wonder of the Three Sisters Wilderness. Located at the base of Tam McArthur Rim, this gorgeous little lake offers camping, hiking, solitude, and beautiful views in every direction.
Dee Wright Observatory
Got a full day set aside for adventures? Take the winding, scenic McKenzie Highway (242) to Dee Wright Observatory to see 65 square miles of black lava rock and incredible views of Mt. Washington, Mt. Jefferson, the Three Sisters, and Mt. Hood and more. After that, continue your journey along the highway for even more magic, such as a hike to Proxy Falls.
Upper Chush Falls
You’ll have to hike through stretches of charred forest, and hop over your fair share of downed trees to get to this waterfall, but it’s all part of the journey that makes the views once you get there all the sweeter. Plus, you’ll get to catch glimpses of the of South Sister and Broken Top along the way.
